My husband is currently earning his PhD in political science, and while this quickly explains our need for extreme frugality, it also means that he knows an awful lot about current politics, including climate change. It certainly helps to have someone around who knows that much about politics, so that I don’t have to stay glued to CNN all day long; instead, I can simply pick his head. And while I may be green when it comes to turning off the lights and reminding him to recycle every last item, he reminds me of the bigger picture issues like Congressional bills and international treaties to limit climate change. Nerdy love, yes, but love nonetheless.
He has a small side gig of writing political articles for various independent presses, and I wanted to share one of his articles here, about the movie Avatar and its environmental message, particularly in regards to the recent events in Copenhagen. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but it sounds like there is a very positive environmental message there. And any time Fox News starts calling a movie “anti-American” makes me want to see that movie! (which they did this morning. Yes, I was watching Fox News. No, I don’t exactly consider it quality journalism. But I digress).
Here’s a link to the article – enjoy!
