I’ve had the sudden urge to declutter our lives around here. Maybe it’s the fact that baby stuff has started creeping into every room. Or the realization that now that we have a baby, we don’t have time for have the stuff we do own. In any case, I’ve been going room by room trying to weed out as much as possible. Yesterday was the bathroom, where I discovered WAY too many bobby pins, half-used travel-sized lotions, and enough saline solution for a small army.
Today, if Frankie decides to enjoy his Baby Bjorn, I might go through my clothes and get rid of anything that didn’t fit me before pregnancy, because my new body is definitely NOT going to be fitting a J Crew size 2 any time soon, possibly never. (Sidenote: need to try other baby carriers. The latest issue of Mothering had a huge article about baby wearing, and I want to wear little Frankie more than I do – not that he’s not always next to me, but typically he’s sitting on my lap, nursing, or being carried in my arms, and I just let the house go to hell. Baby Bjorn is nice, and I did get it at a second hand store for half the price, but Frankie only lasts about half an hour in it. And we received an Ergobaby carrier at my baby shower, but I loaned it to my brother for his trip to Europe with my 2 year old nephew. Longbrake Living loves the Sleepywrap, so I might give that a shot).
Oh, and tomorrow’s my birthday! Not sure what I want to do, I keep forgetting that tomorrow is my birthday and get to control what we do. Maybe buying a baby carrier and more clothes to fit my new gut? Oh what fun. 🙂
