Hi there! Welcome to Green Picket Fence. My name is Mary. I used to work as a librarian at a local public library, but I recently quit to be a stay-at-home mom to my son Frankie. My husband Tony is a PhD candidate in political science, and recently started working at a community college. Between the two of us, we own way too many books, and will forever be up to our eyeballs in student loan debt. That’s us above. Aren’t we cute?
I started this blog to document our lives, as well as maybe teach others about living an eco-friendly life, something I’m very passionate about. I’m probaby the greener spouse when it comes to practical every-little-bit-helps tasks, but Tony is good at theorizing and connecting the dots between policy and politics, so we complement each other nicely. Our lives may not be glamorous or exciting, but we’re working together to create our own version of the American dream – only with less pollution and more awareness. I also like to write about raising babies, style, home decorating, and general going-ons in our lives. It’s our own little green picket fence.
